Within the framework of the Faculty of Medicine’s efforts to serve the local community and among the activities of the “mobile clinic”’s campaign, under “We Come to You,” the Faculty of Medicine established a medical day in cooperation with Al-Khuraybah elementary school and the Educational Directorate in the Bani Kenana District and in the presence of the head of General Education Department in the Directorate, Dr. Alaa Saifan, the Schools Health Officer, Dr. Omar. Malkawi, the Head of the Development Council, Mr. Mahmoud Ababneh and the school principal, Maysa Kanaan, and the administrative staff of the school.
The Deanship of faculty of Medicine represented with Prof. Manar Al-Lawama and her deputies and assistants congratulates medical students, teaching and administrative staff and all Arab and Muslim worlds on (Eid Al-Adha 1445 H) that shines with the first light rays of Sunday June 16 th, 2024. The deanship wishes pilgrims in Mecca the acceptance and blessings, and wish every one who fasted, prayed and did the good deeds in the first ten days of 'Thee AlHijja'; the arabic holy month and Arafah day to have these good deeds accepted by Allah.

At the initiative of medical students and under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Manar Al-Lawama, the Faculty held a specialized research work course for its students entitled “Basics of Medical Research”. The activity was under the supervision of Dr. “Mohammad Akram” Awwad. The workshop included activities from lectures and applied sessions given by Dr. Yaman Al-odat (an expert in the medical research who has many scientific published articles in international journals).
Over the course of its three days, the workshop, which extended from Sunday till Tuesday, August 18th- 20th , 2024, , covered the following topics:
- A comprehensive introduction to medical research.
- Classifications and types of research.
- Methods of analyzing and interpreting medical data.
- Methods of successfully publishing scientific research.
The scientific workshop activities took place for three hours a day and were held on the campus of the Faculty of Medicine in the Ibn Sina Auditorium (the Blue Auditorium) and received a large turnout from students from different academic years.
The Faculty of Medicine thanks Dr. Yaman Al-odat, the distinguished young doctor in his passion for scientific research and his overwhelming desire to transfer this passion to our students for what he presented in this distinguished workshop.

Representing the President of the University, Dr. Islam Massad, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Manar Al-Lawama, auspiced the scientific seminar organized by the Faculty in cooperation with the General Fatwa Department and the Drug Control Department in the Public Security Directorate, on the scourge of drugs and methods of prevention and treatment from a security, religious and health perspective.
During the seminar, the head of the Awareness and Education Department at the Drug Control Administration, Major Nabil Al-Rawashdeh, reviewed the vision of the Drug Control Administration in raising awareness, preventing and preventing this dangerous scourge, pointing to the Jordanian laws that criminalize drug users and addicts.
In the other hand,His Eminence Dr. Mufti Muhammad Al-Rawashdeh from the General Fatwa Department, discussed the point of view of religion and how it fights this scourge and the awareness-raising role played by the Fatwa Department.
The Psychiatrist and addiction treatment specialist, Dr. Mohammad Al-Sammadi, discussed the types of drugs, their effect on health, and different treatment methods.
The seminar included a display of the possessions of the Drug Enforcement Administration's mobile awareness exhibition to learn about the different forms and types of drugs.
It is noteworthy that this seminar, which was attended by a group of students and members of the teaching and administrative staff, was prepared and coordinated by the Assistant Dean for students affairs, Dr. Heba Al-Zoubi.
As part of the processions of the graduation ceremony of the forty-fifth cohort of Yarmouk University, the graduation ceremony of the sixth cohort of the Faculty of Medicine - Passion Batch took place on Thursday, August15th, 2024. The ceremony was under the auspices by the President of Yarmouk University, Prof. Dr. Islam Massad, and in the presence of his deputies, assistants, a number of deans, the teaching faculty and the graduates’ families.
The President of the University delivered a speech to the graduates, then Prof. Dr. Manar Al-Lawama spoke to the graduates and audience and concluded her speech by asking the graduating students to stand up to take the medical oath. After taking the oath, Prof. Al-Lawama presented them as doctors to serve the nation and humanity. The graduates’ speech was read by the graduate student, Dr. Hamza Al-Atoum
The students received graduation certificates from the university president and the Faculty of Medicine dean. The graduate student, Dr. Saba Al-Smadi, received an award for achieving first place in her class. The official celebration was followed by songs and Dabkeh circles (the traditional dance in Jordan) from the graduates’ families to celebrate their children’s graduation.
The Faculty of Medicine congratulates its graduates and wishes them continued success and continuous medical education throughout their professional lives and success in all matters of their lives.
Dear sixth year medical students:
Yarmouk University has signed a collaboration agreement with (Corewell Health)/Michigan that allow visiting international students train in the elective rotation in their institutes.
All Applicants:
We accept applications from medical students for rotations at Corewell Health (formerly Spectrum Health). Visiting students are welcome to apply during their fourth or final year of medical school and are limited to one four-week rotation. CHW_International Visiting Medical Student Application. 2024-2025
Under the patronage of the president of YU Prof. Islam Massad the scientific day of Faculty of Medicine was opened in the Faculty of Medicine campus on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024.. Prof. Manar Al-Lawama the Dean of FM/YU Welcomed the president and his deputies and the guests from sister medical schools in Jordan.
In the scientific day, All sixth year students' researches for the purpose of getting their MD. degree are presented either as posters or as life presentation. Some of the researches were published and some are in the way, the 6th yr students researches are over 60 for this academic year.
