Within the framework of the Faculty of Medicine’s efforts to serve the local community and among the activities of the “mobile clinic”’s campaign, under “We Come to You,” the Faculty of Medicine established a medical day in cooperation with Al-Khuraybah elementary school and the Educational Directorate in the Bani Kenana District and in the presence of the head of General Education Department in the Directorate, Dr. Alaa Saifan, the Schools Health Officer, Dr. Omar. Malkawi, the Head of the Development Council, Mr. Mahmoud Ababneh and the school principal, Maysa Kanaan, and the administrative staff of the school.
The medical day included a group of health activities, including comprehensive tests to measure blood pressure and blood sugar levels, which are essential tests for early detection of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. The doctors also provided specialized medical consultations that focused on how to prevent chronic diseases and manage them effectively. In addition to educating participants about the importance of periodic examinations and following a healthy lifestyle, including proper nutrition and regular exercise.
The FM/YU medical team that supervised this event included :
Dr. Dina Qaadan, Dr. Hadeel Hailat and Dr. Ghalia Abu Mohsen- from the family medicine staff in the teaching faculty and Dr. Mohammad Okour -The pulmonologist and internist in FM/YU.
The event was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Ola Soudah/Public Health teacher in BMS department. A number of medical students in the sixth and fourth years participated in the event. The medical day witnessed widespread approval from the families who came to benefit from the health services and medical consultations provided, as the attendees praised the level of organization and professionalism shown by the mobile clinic team and the school administration. The attendees and the host school expressed their gratitude to Yarmouk University for this valuable initiative.
