Dear 5th year medical students
Greetings
After meeting the coordinators of the minor courses and family medicine, the deanship of Faculty of Medicine- YU decided to unify the mechanism of end of rotation exams in this period of online distant learning as follows:
1- The exams will be held using Zoom program as an oral exam by a student- Faculty zoom meeting for 15 minutes for each student (The exam will be by clinical scenario scheme, MiniOSCE questions, pictures and images with signs to detect.... etc.)
2- Every group of students applying for each specialty exam will be sorted to subgroups. each subgroup is examined by one of the faculty members
3- Every student will be given an approximate time to be available for the exam via ZOOM with the doctor assigned to examine him. this time will be before the Exam date.
4- Opening the video camera of ZOOM is mandatory. and the exam will be RECORDED for documentation. Refrain from opening the camera for any excuse and at any time during the exam will postpone the exam for a later time , and the mark will be recorded as ( Incomplete) . The make-up exam will be also a face-to-face oral exam in the same way this exam is designed, and in the campus.
5- The postponed last exam for each group which was postponed from last Thursday will be held on Thursday March 18/3/2021, the exam will start at 9 am and this Thursday 18/3 will be just only an exam day, it will be day-off for the current rotation you are attending ( no lectures or Zoom clinical teaching).
6- The end of rotation exam for the present rotation you are in, and for future rotations will be held on the Thursday of the 2nd week of that minor rotation ( The last day of the rotation as scheduled before) at 9 am - and by the same way; Oral Zoom Exam-, till the decisions of online teaching is switched back into face-to -face direct teaching again.
7- Every group CR is responsible to collect scanned pics of all his group university ID's , and to certify their authenticity. Unavailability of university ID necessitates providing another governmental ID with clear picture. and the coordinator should be informed by the CR about any refrain from providing the ID as the student will not be able to apply for the exam. The coordinator of the course has to be provided with the ID's at least one day prior to exam.
8- Every CR has to provide the coordinator with all Zoom email accounts or create a Zoom channel with all these accounts and the faculty staff of the specialty in the same Zoom channel.
9- The coordinator of the course will provide his group of students with the details and the distinctive points about his specialty exam.
10- For the students of Psychiatry and Obs. and Gyne. : the way and time of the exam will be determined soon and the details about them will be announced by the Faculty of Medicine deanship.

The deans' council in Yarmouk University has decided to promote Dr. Waleed Al Momani , the head of Department of Basic Sciences , and Dr. Hakam Al-Khateeb , a faculty member in the same department to the rank of ' Professor'.
Prof. Al Momani is specialized in Microbiology and Prof. Al Khateeb is specialized in Physiology.
The family of the faculty congratulates both professors and wishes them the best in their career.

Faculty of Medicine - YU held a farewell ceremony for Prof. Wissam Shihadeh the ex-Dean on Wednsday Sept. 2nd, 2020. The ceremony was under the patronage of the President of Yarmouk University Prof. Zaydoon Kafafi. It was attended by the vice presidents and the Dean of Faculty of Medicine Dr. Khaldoon Bashaireh and the academic and the administrative staff
The celebration started with a speech by the Dean of the faculty of medicine , who welcomed the president , the vice presidents and the ex-Dean. He mentioned the achievements of the faculty since its establishment and though the period of the ex-Dean Dr. Shihadeh. then Dr. Bashaireh highlighted the aspirations of the faculty of medicine in the future till it becomes a prominent figure in the middle east.
Prof. Kafafi, the president then gave a speech thanked Prof. Wissam for his work during his period as a dean, and he welcomed Dr. Bashaireh in his new position. the president talked about the univeristy's hard work to establish the university hospital in the near future to be the place where our students get clinical training during their studies.
Dr. Wissam thanked the President and his deputies , as well as the Dean and the academic and the administrative staff for this gesture of appreciation. He wished the faculty more and more of achievements in the future.
Finally , The President delivered Prof. Shihadeh the shield of the university. Dr. Bashaireh as well delivered Dr. Shihadeh the shield of the faculty.

Dear medical students in Yarmouk University (YU)
Committed to higher education decisions declared by His Excellency the minister of Higher Education this evening , Tuesday March 9 th, 2021, please get informed with the following decisions:
1- The clinical exams of the clinical specialties that were supposed to be held on next Wednesday and Thursday (March 10th and 11th ) will be postponed till a further notice.
2- The clinical direct learning in hospitals will be switched to distant online learning, starting from tomorrow till a further notice.
3- CR's of the clinical groups will be provided by the schedule of distant online learning sessions by the coordinator doctors of their different specialties' courses.

Dr. Medhr Al-Zoubi was assigned as a dean assistant for scientific research, international relations and graduate affairs, starting from this semester. Dr. Al-Zoubi is an associate professor in the department of basic sciences in the Faculty of Medicine. He holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology.

The board of trustees of Yarmouk university decided at their meeting held on August 22nd, 2020 to approve the new academic formations set by Prof. Zaydoon Kafafi , the prseident of Yarmouk University. One of which is the assignment of Dr. Khaldoon Bashaireh as the Acting Dean of faculty of medicine - YU.
Dr. Khaldoon is an associate professor in faculty of medicine, Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), He graduated from faculty of Medicine @ JUST , then finished his studies in Orthopedic surgery in Germany. and he has subspecialties in knee surgery by arthroscope and reconstruction.
The family of Faculty of medicine- YU congratulates Dr. Bashaireh and wishes him the best in his new position and his career , working hand by hand with him.
As well the family of faculty medicine thanks Prof. Wissam Shehadeh, the leaving dean for his efforts and success story during his priod. wishing him the best in the future.

The deans' council of Jordan University of Science and Technology has decided to promote Dr. Khaldoon Bashaireh , the dean of Faculty of Medicine , YU to the rank of 'Professor' . Dr. Bashaireh is specialized in Orthopedic Surgery and knee surgeries from Johannes Gutenberg of Mainz , Germany.

The Dean of faculty of medicine- YU, Dr. Khaldoon Bashaireh met a group of the faculty's medical graduates in the deanship this week. He welcomed them and showed them some plans to strengthen the ties between the faculty and the new doctors who graduate from YU school of medicine. The plans aim to support our graduates in starting their career in the medical field inside and outside Jordan.
Then each of the graduates who represent their colleagues gave their suggestions and ideas about the ways of connection and support they expect for the benefit of both the graduates and the students still in school.

The season of Soul Batch graduation, the second batch of medical students to be graduated in Summer 2020 started on Sunday March 1st, 2020 by the opening ceremony of graduation notebooks party. The ceremony was under the patronage of the Dean of Faculty of Medicine Prof. Wisam Shihadeh, in the presence of his Deputy Dean, Prof. Zain Al Abideen Al Abdullah, the dean assistants, group of the teaching and administrative staff of the faculty. All gathered to celebrate the attending Soul Batch students with their fellows of next batches.
The celebration started by cutting the opening ribbon then taking the commemorative photos, then One of Soul batch students gave a welcome speech. After that the crowd went through the sections of the sponsoring companies and the graduation notebooks.
The hall will be open in the next few weeks to receive the friends, colleagues and the teachers of the students who intend to write their comments on the notebooks.
