In line with the decisions of the Higher Education Council to perform the final theoritical exams as online exams, and in pursuit of developing the skills of faculty members of Clinical Medical Sciences (CMS) department in this issue, the Faculty of Medicine /YU in collaboration with Faculty of IT and Computer Sciences held a workshop to increase the skills of faculty members to use E-learning platform for final theoritical exams. that was already used by the Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) department during the last years. The ُE-learning platform was adopted this year for CMS department instead of another platform.
The workshop started by an introductory breif speech by the Dean of Faculty of Medicine Prof. Khaldoon Bashaireh who welcomed Dr. Ahmad Klaib from Faculty of IT and Computer sciences and praised the inter-collaboration between Yarmouk University faculties for the sake of development of the educational process in the university.
Dr. Ahmad Klaib , the Assistant Professor in Faculty of IT gave a full coverage of the subject of the workshop, from the best way of using the E learning platform, stressing on how to establish a question bank, and the different steps of setting a reliable exam with a practical detailed explanation of the procedure. A wide margin of discussion between the lecturer and the faculty members was there during the workshop. Another session will be held in the next few days to complete all the subject and to see the feedback of the faculty members after they start using the E-learning platform.
An agreement of collaboration between Yarmouk University and International Medical Corps (IMC) was signed today.This agreement is in the field of mental health and risk factors. The agreement was signed by Prof. Nabeel Heilat , the president of the university and Dr. Ahmad Bawaneh, the representative of the IMC in Jordan. The signing ceremony was attended by the vice President Prof. Mowaffaq Al-Omoosh and the Dean of Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Khaldoon Bashaireh.
This agreement will positively reflect on the training of our medical students in the IMC clinics which are widespred in the minisitry of health hospitals and clinics as well as in the IMC hospitals in the refugee camps in Jordan. This will increase the exposure of medical students to different and various cases that are not usually present in the psychiatry clinics like the mental health of people who lived in dangerous situations as wars. and who were exposed to exile or forced immigration. Another benifit in the near future will be available in the term of psychiatry academic training before and after graduation.

Dear medical students in Yarmouk University (YU)
Committed to higher education decisions declared by His Excellency the minister of Higher Education this evening , Tuesday March 9 th, 2021, please get informed with the following decisions:
1- The clinical exams of the clinical specialties that were supposed to be held on next Wednesday and Thursday (March 10th and 11th ) will be postponed till a further notice.
2- The clinical direct learning in hospitals will be switched to distant online learning, starting from tomorrow till a further notice.
3- CR's of the clinical groups will be provided by the schedule of distant online learning sessions by the coordinator doctors of their different specialties' courses.

Dear 6th year Medical students:
Greetings,
In pursuit of Faculty of Medicine YU to give our students the maximum benifit and to allow them complete the clinical training in hospitals after a period of online learning due to the last outburst of COVID19, The faculty administration decided the following preocedures for the sake of using the available training facilities at their best with a meticulous consideration of the high health standards in term of number of students in each facility and at a time.
The time of compensation will be at the lower limit but to the highest probable benifit of exposure to patients and clinical instructors. Considering both the valuable clinical training and the ideal time of graduation that won't interfere with the start of internship year that will start after completion of final exams as scheduled.
The following procedures should be respected and followed strictly:
1- The batch will be divided into four groups , each group consists of 54 to 56 students and the groups will be appointed to the four majors of sixth year ( Medicine, Surgery, Obs. & Gyne and Pediatrics).
2- Each group will be divided into 4 subgroups , each subgroup will consist of 14-15 students.
3- Two clinical instructors will be responsible for each subgroup, So the subgroup will again be divded into smaller group of 7 to 8 students
4- General Surgery and Internal Medicine training facilities are: 1- Princess Basma Hospital. 2- Jerash Governmental Hospital 3- Clinical skills Lab in the Faculty of Medicine Campus
Obs. & Gyne training facilities are: 1- Princess Badea Hospital of its two wards ( Labour ward and Obs. & Gyne. ward). 2- Jerash Governmental Hospital
Pediatrics training facilities are: 1- Princess Rahmah Hospital and 2- Yarmouk Governmental Hospital.
5- Regarding transportation between the Campus and hospitals:
- For Jerash Governmental hospital , the 45 students going there daily will be divided into two buses, each of which the capacity is 45 passengers, so each bus will take just half of its capacity ( i.e. 20-25 students)
- 15 students who are assigned to Yarmouk Governmental hospital will ride a bus with a capacity of 26 passengers.
6- All students should stick to the general safety measures ( putting face masks all the time , periodic hands sanitizations by alcohol and other effective hand sanitizers., avoid the isolation wards , and keep spacing among themselves and others.
7- No way , Two smllest groups of 7 are allowed to gather for clinical rounds. This absolute prohibition is set to get the maximum scientific and training benifit and to keep with the rules of health and safety.

The deans' council of Jordan University of Science and Technology has decided to promote Dr. Khaldoon Bashaireh , the dean of Faculty of Medicine , YU to the rank of 'Professor' . Dr. Bashaireh is specialized in Orthopedic Surgery and knee surgeries from Johannes Gutenberg of Mainz , Germany.
The family of the faculty congratulates Prof. Bashaireh and wishes him the best in his career.

The deanship of Faculty of Medicine/YU announces the schedule of final exams for the clinical years ( the 4th, the 5th and the 6th) for the academic year 2020-2021, as follows:

Dear 5th year medical students
Greetings
After meeting the coordinators of the minor courses and family medicine, the deanship of Faculty of Medicine- YU decided to unify the mechanism of end of rotation exams in this period of online distant learning as follows:
1- The exams will be held using Zoom program as an oral exam by a student- Faculty zoom meeting for 15 minutes for each student (The exam will be by clinical scenario scheme, MiniOSCE questions, pictures and images with signs to detect.... etc.)
2- Every group of students applying for each specialty exam will be sorted to subgroups. each subgroup is examined by one of the faculty members
3- Every student will be given an approximate time to be available for the exam via ZOOM with the doctor assigned to examine him. this time will be before the Exam date.
4- Opening the video camera of ZOOM is mandatory. and the exam will be RECORDED for documentation. Refrain from opening the camera for any excuse and at any time during the exam will postpone the exam for a later time , and the mark will be recorded as ( Incomplete) . The make-up exam will be also a face-to-face oral exam in the same way this exam is designed, and in the campus.
5- The postponed last exam for each group which was postponed from last Thursday will be held on Thursday March 18/3/2021, the exam will start at 9 am and this Thursday 18/3 will be just only an exam day, it will be day-off for the current rotation you are attending ( no lectures or Zoom clinical teaching).
6- The end of rotation exam for the present rotation you are in, and for future rotations will be held on the Thursday of the 2nd week of that minor rotation ( The last day of the rotation as scheduled before) at 9 am - and by the same way; Oral Zoom Exam-, till the decisions of online teaching is switched back into face-to -face direct teaching again.
7- Every group CR is responsible to collect scanned pics of all his group university ID's , and to certify their authenticity. Unavailability of university ID necessitates providing another governmental ID with clear picture. and the coordinator should be informed by the CR about any refrain from providing the ID as the student will not be able to apply for the exam. The coordinator of the course has to be provided with the ID's at least one day prior to exam.
8- Every CR has to provide the coordinator with all Zoom email accounts or create a Zoom channel with all these accounts and the faculty staff of the specialty in the same Zoom channel.
9- The coordinator of the course will provide his group of students with the details and the distinctive points about his specialty exam.
10- For the students of Psychiatry and Obs. and Gyne. : the way and time of the exam will be determined soon and the details about them will be announced by the Faculty of Medicine deanship.
