The 12th international conference of the Jordanian Orthopedic Surgeons society was held between October 28th, 2019 and November 2nd, 2019 under the patronage of Her Highness Princess Basma Bint Talal .
Dr. Salah Daradkeh the orthopedic surgeon and the assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences , Faculty of Medicine @ Yarmouk University participated by an important presentation under the title of ( Safety of Osseo integrated implants for transfemoral amputees), a lecture gained special interest due to the modern technology used internationally.
The conference was attended by the orthopedic staff in the faculty of medicine and number of our medical students.
Academy of Laureate held a medical day in collaboration with Faculty of Medicine @ Yarmouk University on Saturday Nov. 30th, 2019. This activity was supervised by Dr. Waleed Al-Momani who talked in the opening ceremony of the day stressing on the importance of the role that our faculty of medicine plays in community service by building bridges among the different sectors of the community for the benefit of the Jordanian citizen.
This activity was effectively shared by many of the faculty staff ; Dr. Hasan Al Balas, Dr. Sameer Al Balas and the dentist Dr. Shaher Daradkeh as well as a group of medical students from all levels.
The medical day included physical examination of many cases and medical awareness lectures like " Influenza" presented by Dr. Hasan Al Balas and "Contact lenses " presented by the student Luay Abu Ismael of the 5th year batch.
In addition to the lectures, the medical students shared in giving advises to the visitors about the importance of hygiene especially hand washing to control infection and some diet advises and precautions, they also measured blood pressure and blood sugar glucocheck for interested visitors.
The activity included the participation of Sewar pharmacy by presenting many medications and food supplements by free.
The administration of Laureate academy thanked Yarmouk University represented by the faculty of medicine for its support to let this medical day succeed. It presented at the end of the day the certificates and shield for the participants.

As a memorial of Dr. Radwan Al Saa'd " the doctor of the poor", who died lately -Blessing upon his soul-, Hidaya societal training center organized a free medical day to treat in need people in Irbid camp. This activity was with collaboration of many medical organizations among which is the Faculty of Medicine @ YU and Minsitry of health and a number of private sector doctors.
Dr. Khalid Seetan an assistant professor in Dermatology presented the faculty with the presence and help of group of medical students.
The free medical day was held on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019
The staff members are Dr. Muaweya Khatabeh, Dr. Reema Karasneh, Dr. Zaid Al Ta'any and Dr. Hiba Al Zoubi.
The workshop was held during "the 4th international conference of research ethics in Jordan" which was opened in Jordan university of science and Technology under the care of Faculty of pharmacy @ JUST on Nov. 5th, 2019.
'A Healthy traveler' is a new activity of faculty of medicine, YU activities was held on Thursday October 31st, 2019 in the archeological site in Jerash , in collaboration with Jerash tourist department.
The students who are members of IFMSA did this activity to increase the awareness of the health aspect during tourist's time abroad. medical education , vital signs measurement, lab tests and CPR training were among the services given to the tourists during the activity.
The activity was supervised by two of the faculty staff Dr. Suhair Qudseyyeh and Dr. Nahed Ahmad.
The responsible officers of Jerash tourist department and the tourists praised this activity and encouraged the students to do more such activities.

A medical day to increase the awareness of different health issues in the community of Irbid was held on Tuesday October 17th, 2019. This activity was under the care of the faculty of Medicine @ Yarmouk University. It was performed by our active medical students under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Al Zoubi , the dean assistant of clinical issues, an assistant prof. in urology.
The activities included vital signs measurement and education of the people with abnormal vital signs to visit the specialist regarding this issue. Measurement of blood glucose level was done too for people who were keen to do this lab test. A special zone for women awareness of breast cancer screening and gynecological issues. and how could we forget our kids and their precious health. Kids were welcomed in a way they like with balloons , healthy candies, face colorful paintings and Mr. funny clown.
The activity started from the early morning till the evening and was cheered by the mall visitors.

Under the patronage of Faculty of medicine in collaboration with the deanship of students affairs , A group of medical students under the umbrella of the faculty of Medicine -YU and the International Federation of Medical Students
The activity was attended by university female and male students from different specialties and faculties who were educated about the importance of early screening in breast cancer , the symptoms and the course of this disease. Brochures and pink ribbons were distributed. The activity was a part of IFMSA activities in coordination with the faculty of medicine and was supervised by Dr. Mohammad Akram Awwad from the faculty.
The deans of faculty of medicine Prof. Wesam Shihadeh and deanship of students affairs Dr. Amal Nusair honored the activity with their care. They talked to the students and listened to their comments.
