The Faculty of Medicine of Yarmouk University was represented in the Arab Board of Orthopedics exam - the practical part of the June 2021 session, which was held in the Faculty of Medicine at the sister Hashemite University, from the first to the third of June. The Faculty's contribution was through Prof. Khaldoun Al-Bashaireh, Dean of the FM/YU, who is also a member of the Scientific Committee for Orthopedic Surgery in the Arab Council for Health Specialties, which organizes this examination. He also participated in the examination committees as an examiner from inside the committee. Accompanied by Dr. "Mohammad Akram" Awwad, Assistant Professor of Orthopedics in the Department of Clinical Medical Sciences and a member of the Jordanian Board of Orthopedics Committee, who contributed as a visiting examiner.This exam and its current session was held in Jordan and the Jordanian orthopedic surgeons were side by side with their colleagues from the countries of the Arab world. And those who examined more than eighty qualified residents in the various examination sections.
A radio seminar about the present local COVID-19 situation in Jordan and its effect on the academic teaching especially on the medical student in Jordan was held today morning via Jordan University radio station. It also discussed the possibility of safe return to direct teaching ( face-face) in the next academic year in the shadow of the governmental orientation towards vaccinating university student and faculty members to cover this important sector in the society.
The radio program under the name of ( without hesitation) was hosted by Ms. Aman Al-Saeh. Her guests in the seminar were:

This is a circular letter for our students and faculty members regarding the final exams of the clinical years ( 4th, 5th and 6th) in Faculty of Medicine/ YU
At the start, Congratulations for the happy Eid Al Fitr , we wish you the best in your lives and the success in the coming final exams
First:
In line with the decisions of the higher education council , the finals will be online using the platform
Moodle.yu.edu.jo.
Second:
The student can enter the exam platform the same way he could log in to his E-learning platform by using his university number and the personal password, This platform will open for medical students between 1-3 pm only. and the exam will be available just at the times written in the curriculum of final exams attached in this circular. Once the student logged in she/he will find all the subjects she/he registered in the first and second semesters. So we urge our student to revise his registered courses in the platform to be sure that all the courses she/he will apply for their exams are in his account. If any course in unavailable the student has to show up in the faculty campus and take a letter for the admission and registeration department to register this course to be available in his account before the exam.
Third:
All the exams will be held at the times and dates in the table attached to this circular.
Fourth:
All the exams and as usual will be in the form of Multiple choices questions (MCQs)
Fifth:
Number of questions in the exams are as follows:
6 th year major courses: 100 questions ( duration: two hours)
5th year minor courses: 50 questions (duration: one hour)
5th year sub major courses: 60 questions (duration: 70 minutes)
5th year major( Obs. and Gyne) 100 questions ( duration: two hours)
4th year all courses 100 questions (duration: two hours)
Sixth:
All the exams in all courses will be done as multiple forms
Seventh:
All the exams will be in a (one-way pattern MCQ exam), which means you have a one try to answer this question, once you skipped it or moved to the next question you cannot go back to the old question, so you have to answer the question the best as you know before moving to another question.
Eighth:
If you faced any technical problem with the exam platform or you couldn't log in to it, you have to apply by e mail letter from your university e mail (during the 24 hours since the exam start time). This letter should be directed to the following doctors (cc. e mail letter):

No letter concerning this issue will be accepted after the 24 hour margin.
Any (Incomplete) exam will be held inside the campus, not online
Ninth:
Any student who has a problem regarding internet availability or personal lap top, computer or smart phone availability can request an in-campus place from the deanship before the exams. The deanship will ensure a place inside the faculty campus where he can do his exams in a suitable way.
The following is the table of the exams of all the clinical years ( 4th, 5th and 6th) with the day, date, starting time and duration of each exam.
The administration of Yarmouk University via public relations department announced today May 27th, 2021 the schedule of COVID 19 vaccination for the medical students and the teaching and administrative staff in Faculty of Medicine/ YU.
The announcement is as follows:
'Yarmouk University starts the COVID 19 vaccination campaign next Saturday May 29th, 2021 that comes in collaboration with ministry of high education and scientific research and ministry of health (M.O.H.). The campaign continues for two days ( Saturday and Sunday). The targets of this announcement are medical students in the clinical years (4th, 5th and 6th years) , administrative and academic staff of Faculty of Medicine /YU and administrative and academic staff of Al-Husn and Irbid university colleges who are qualified to take the vaccine and who have already registered in the M.O.H. vaccination platform https://vaccine.jo/cvms/ .
Those who were called to get vaccinated has to head to Conferences and seminars building beside the Presidency building to get vaccinated by qualified trained nurses from Yarmouk University health center. The campaign starts at 8:30 am till 2pm in each of the campaign two days.
Mr. Mokhles AlEbbeeni , the head of public relations department and the spokesman of Yarmouk University called the family of the university to cooperate with the campaign by registering in the M.O.H. vaccination platform, and to get the vaccine. This step will be a major help to the national efforts of the COVID 19 pandemic standoff. The success of this campaign will lead to a safe return of the academic life inside the university campus. Mr. AlEbbeeni stressed on the necessity of determining the (business sector) field in the form as (Education sector) during filling the registeration form in the platform.'
The Faculty of Medicine deanship calls all our students and staff to cooperate with this campaign announced by the presidency. We expect you all to be a role model to our colleagues in the university. Let's make it happen and return back to our campus for learning and teaching as soon as possible.

The second session of the workshop (Electronic exams using Moodle and E-learning platforms) was held on Thursday May 20th, 2021. The session started by a breif welcome speech by Prof. Zain Alabideen Al-abdulla the Vice-Dean of Faculty of Medicine, who welcomed the faculty members of Clinical Medical Sciences CMS department and Dr. Ahmad Klaib the assistant professor in the faculty of I.T. and Computer Sciences. He thanked Dr. Klaib and his faculty for the continuous cooperation between the two faculties.
The session started with a quick treview of what has been given in the first session, then he explained what remained of the technical issues that were not discussed in the first session like using all the platforms credited by the university for the sake of electronic exams, the backup process, the restore and transfer of the information in and between the templates, the way of establishing multiple forms , the access restriction if needed, the gardes and their statistical analysis and other valuable information.
Interactive discussion between the lecturer and the CMS faculty members followed and questions were raised and solutions were given for the difficulties exposed after the CMS faculty members have started using the platforms after the first session. The discussion was fruiful with all wishes to have a susccesful and fair final exam season.

Greetings,
Seeking to get a safe gradual return of all our students to faculty campus and direct teaching, we urge our students in the three clinical years plus our students in the third year that will start their clinical training in the next academic year who have not got vaccinated for COVID-19 yet to resgister in the ministry of health vaccination platform as soon as possible
The vaccines will be provided inside Yarmouk University campus with the priority to : clinical years medical students, faculty members and administrative staff. Students in the basic years will follow. The vaccination process is expected to start soon.

Faculty of Medicine Deanship
In the interest of Faculty of Medicine/YU for the local community service, and in collaboration with Yarmouk FM broadcasting station, a new medical radio program will start broadcasting under the name of ( Your Health @ Yarmouk FM) , the program's idea, preparation and presentation by Dr. Soha Al-Beitawi , the assistant professor in faculty of medicine/ Department of Clinical Medical Sciences and the consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology division.
Dr. Al-Beitawi will host a doctor from the Faculty of Medicine in each episode. The whole program will cover different specialties. The guest doctors will talk about common medical problems, How to be aware of them , how to seek medical advice and how they are treated. This program aims to increase the level of awareness and health education in the local community.
The Program will be aired each Thursday at 2:00 pm and the episode will be rebroadcasted at 9:00 pm each Friday and Saturday.

In line with the decisions of the Higher Education Council to perform the final theoritical exams as online exams, and in pursuit of developing the skills of faculty members of Clinical Medical Sciences (CMS) department in this issue, the Faculty of Medicine /YU in collaboration with Faculty of IT and Computer Sciences held a workshop to increase the skills of faculty members to use E-learning platform for final theoritical exams. that was already used by the Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) department during the last years. The ُE-learning platform was adopted this year for CMS department instead of another platform.
The workshop started by an introductory breif speech by the Dean of Faculty of Medicine Prof. Khaldoon Bashaireh who welcomed Dr. Ahmad Klaib from Faculty of IT and Computer sciences and praised the inter-collaboration between Yarmouk University faculties for the sake of development of the educational process in the university.
Dr. Ahmad Klaib , the Assistant Professor in Faculty of IT gave a full coverage of the subject of the workshop, from the best way of using the E learning platform, stressing on how to establish a question bank, and the different steps of setting a reliable exam with a practical detailed explanation of the procedure. A wide margin of discussion between the lecturer and the faculty members was there during the workshop. Another session will be held in the next few days to complete all the subject and to see the feedback of the faculty members after they start using the E-learning platform.
