Wateen Medical Debate Team held its third debate entitled (Is hiding the diagnosis of a cancer good for him?) on Sunday, 21/8/2022 in the blue auditorium in the campus of FM/YU, in the presence of the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Thiabat, and Prof. Dr. Zain Al-Abideen Abdullah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Malkawi, a number of the academic staff of both the basic and clinical medical sciences departments and a group of cultural activities officials other employees from the Deanship of Student Affairs.

The Jury was composed of a number of faculty members from the basic and clinical departments of the Facultyof Medicine; Dr. Laila Matalqa, Dr. Zaid Al-Ta’ani, Dr. Maryam Al-Omari, Dr. Hadeel Abu Al-Rub and Dr. Rashid Shatnawi.

The two sides of the debate were students from the Faculty of Medicine from different years.The opposition of (hiding te diagnosis) team for the title of the debate was represented by the students Somaya Al-Sharif, Saif Al-Deen Al-Irany, Sarah Sammouh and Renad Al-Falih. As for the Pro (hiding the diagnosis) team, it was made up of the students Anas Al-Shannaq, Ahmed Bataineh, Ayham Zyoud and Sarah Dawahdeh.

The Wateen team leader, student Raneem Alaa Al-Barrishi, and the co-founders; the students: Somaya Al-Sharif, Ghaida Ananzeh, Razan Ahmed, Shujaa Mashaqbeh, and the members; the students Anas Al-Ragheb, Yaman Al-Qudah, Malak Al-Sarayrah, Amal Al-Omari, Rand Ibrahim, Omar Al-Zoubi, Karam Thiabat, Hana’ Khraisat, Anas Al-Shannaq, Haneen Batat, and Rania Abu Khadra prepared for the debate, starting from choosing the topic at the first start to its final scene as it was held.  The debate held on the campus of the Faculty of Medicine / Yarmouk University. The debate was decided in favor of the (hiding the diagnosis) opposition team, and all the debaters from both teams and the Wateen team members were honored with participation certificates.

In light of the guidance of the university president, Prof. Dr. Islam Massad and the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr.. Khaldoon Al-Bashaireh, we invite you to attend an awareness lecture about the Huda Program that provides a huge medical data representing all patients in the Kingdom and the mechanisms of its use in the field of medical research.

The lecture will be presented by Engineer Omar Ibrahim Ayesh, CEO of Hakeem Company, on Monday, August 15^th, 2022 at 9:30 am in the Potash auditorium PH04 in Prince Hussein bin Abdullah Building.

It is worth noting that this scientific activity comes within the activities of the Faculty of Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Ola Soudah and Dr. Rima Karasneh who are faculty members in the Department of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS).

Dr. Ramada Khasawneh, the associate professor in the department of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) received the (2022 Junior Female Anatomist Award) presented by the international federation of associations of anatomists in their congress meeting held in Turkey last week. The family of Faculty of Medicine congratulates Dr. Ramada for this international recognition and hopes the best for her in the academic and research careers.

On the afternoon of Sunday, August 7, 2022, a graduation ceremony was held for the fourth batch of graduates of the Faculty of Medicine for “Hope batch “ of (2016-2022) and the batch of the Faculty of Pharmacy for the year 2022, in a ceremony under the auspices of the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Mohammad Khalaf Al-Thneibat and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof.. Khaldoon Bashaireh and the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Mervat Al-Sous The ceremony was attended by a large crowd of students' families. The ceremony was at the Yarmouk University stadium.

The ceremony began with the entry of the faculty members of the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy, led by the sponsors of the ceremony, to the podium, then the royal anthem was played, and the ceremony began with a speech from the toastmaster of the ceremony, in which she presented the students of the two colleges and announced their graduation.

Then the Then the graduates’ speech was presented by the student Tamer Massadeh. After that the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine was presented to deliver  his speech, who congratulated the students for this happy occasion and he advised him some important advices for their future that would benefit them in their practical life, then asked them to stand up for the medical oath. After performing the medical oath, Dr. Al-Bashaireh handed the graduation certificates to this corps of new young doctors , starting with the first ranked for this batch, the student, Omar Al-Tahat.

 The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy as well delivered a speech to the graduate pharmacy students, recited the pharmacist’s oath, and presented graduation certificates to the pharmacy graduates. After the ceremony, the families of the graduates continued their joys with songs and folk dances. 

The Faculty of Medicine presents its congratulations to the graduates of a “Hope Batch 2016-2022” and to their families and loved ones, and wishes them continued success in the fields of work.

The Jordanian Board Exam in Family Medicine was held last week over a period of three days, one day for the theoretical exam at the University of Jordan, and two days for the practical clinical exam which was held for the first time as OSCE to maintain fair exposure to questions for all candidates.

Dr. Hadeel Hailat, Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Medical Sciences has participated as a member of the Board Committee, and she was accompanied by Dr. Batool Al-Dos and Dr. Dina Qadan, the two assistant professors in the same department as examiners in the OSCE exam.
