Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) Department announces the schedule of exams for the current summer semester for the students of the basic stage in Faculty of Medicine , as follows:
Dr. Murad Shatnawi, the Consultant of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases, the Assistant Professor in the Clinical Medical Sciences Department at the Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University, participated in the Second International Medical Conference of the Sub-Committee of the Jordanian Medical Association / Mafraq, which was held during the period from 28 to 30 July 2022, where Dr. Shatnawi lectured On the latest updates in the screening, diagnosis and treatment of Dyslipidemia.
Dr. Shatnawi also focused on the latest protocols followed and the modern drugs used in the treatment of high cholesterol.

In light of the guidance of the university president, Prof. Dr. Islam Massad and the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr.. Khaldoon Al-Bashaireh, we invite you to attend an awareness lecture about the Huda Program that provides a huge medical data representing all patients in the Kingdom and the mechanisms of its use in the field of medical research.
The lecture will be presented by Engineer Omar Ibrahim Ayesh, CEO of Hakeem Company, on Monday, August 15th, 2022 at 9:30 am in the Potash auditorium PH04 in Prince Hussein bin Abdullah Building.
It is worth noting that this scientific activity comes within the activities of the Faculty of Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Ola Soudah and Dr. Rima Karasneh who are faculty members in the Department of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS).

Note that the date of placement exam will be on Wednesday 3-8-2022 according to the following times:
Applicants for the basic medical sciences exam from (11 am - 1 pm)
Applicants for the Clinical Medical Sciences Exam from (12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m)
The student must be in the campus of the Faculty of Medicine half an hour before the exam time, with his civil status identity card and a passport bearing the return stamp from Ukraine.
Within the interest of the Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University to communicate with graduates and to maintain communication between graduates and their fellow students, the Faculty of Medicine, in cooperation with the International Federation of Medical Student Associations (IFMSA) - Yarmouk University, prepared an integrated project on (life after graduation) and the first of which was a lecture entitled “Requirements for obtaining admission in Residency Programs in USA. Three of the FM/YU graduates participated in presenting its paragraphs, and the keynote speaker was Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani, a graduate of the first batch of the Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University, who completed the requirements of the specialty in America and obtained a residency in the specialty of Neurology, which is one of the competitive specialties in the United States of America. Dr. Almothanna Manasreh and Dr. Baraa' Abu Ata as well gave the students some important notes during the activity.The lecture was held at 12 noon on Thursday 28-7-2022 in the auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine - Blue Hall. It lasted for three hours, including a break.
The event was under the auspices of Prof. Zain Al Abidin Abdullah, Vice Dean of the FM/YU, in the presence of Prof. Mazhar Al-Zoubi, Assistant Dean for Alumni Affairs and International Relations, and Dr. Nisreen Bataineh, Assistant Dean for Accreditation and Quality Assurance, a number of teaching faculty members, and a crowd of students of different academic years at the Faculty of Medicine.
The lecture began with a presentation by Dr. Mazhar Al-Zoubi for the lecture’s program and the lecturers. Then he gave the floor to the Vice Dean to deliver the Dean's speech, in which Prof. Zain Al-Abidin welcomed his daughters and sons, FM/YU graduates and students, and stressed on the importance of continuous communication between the Faculty and the Alumni, and between the students and Alumni with the help and support of their mother college. He continued: ‘Our Faculty is proud of the successes of its graduates in practical life after graduation. And that the Faculty's keenness to continue, consolidate and develop success, necessitated the establishment of this guidance program on (the life after graduation for a Yarmouk medical student) to guide her/him to the various fields of specialization inside and outside Jordan. As the program begins with introducing the specialization in America to our students, it will continue in upcoming lectures to cover specialization in Britain, Germany, Qatar and other countries that give the chance our students to specialize in their institutes."
Then Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani started his lecture by talking about the exams that qualify the student to obtain a license to practice training in the United States (ECFMG certificate) and enumerated them, highlighting all the details about the nature of these exams, starting with the USMLE step 1 exam and then the USMLE step 2 CK exam, and then talking about where these exams are held, their times, how they are held in detail, their costs, the books that are recommended to study for each of these exams, the changes that occurred in some exams and their alternatives, such as the USMLE 2 CS exam, which was stopped after the COVID 19 pandemic and was replaced by the OET exam that Dr. Muthanna Manasra talked about in details. At the end of the first paragraph, a detailed talk about the third part of the USMLE3 exam was given.Then, after the break, Dr. Al-Momani spoke about how to apply for the (Match Program) to match the choices of specialties and institutes that the student is candidate for, and about how to register electronically, the procedures for reconciling the options, the results, and what it costs to register in the program.
The talk was not only informative, but rather interactive with the students who were asking their questions about every detail and every point that needed an answer from Dr. Momani and his colleagues, who provided everyone with their own experiences to apply and succeed in these exams. The lecture was useful for the students who thanked their fellow graduates for the valuable information. The date of the remaining lectures for the event (Life after Graduation) will be scheduled soon.
On the afternoon of Sunday, August 7, 2022, a graduation ceremony was held for the fourth batch of graduates of the Faculty of Medicine for “Hope batch “ of (2016-2022) and the batch of the Faculty of Pharmacy for the year 2022, in a ceremony under the auspices of the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Mohammad Khalaf Al-Thneibat and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof.. Khaldoon Bashaireh and the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Mervat Al-Sous The ceremony was attended by a large crowd of students' families. The ceremony was at the Yarmouk University stadium.
The ceremony began with the entry of the faculty members of the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy, led by the sponsors of the ceremony, to the podium, then the royal anthem was played, and the ceremony began with a speech from the toastmaster of the ceremony, in which she presented the students of the two colleges and announced their graduation.
Then the Then the graduates’ speech was presented by the student Tamer Massadeh. After that the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine was presented to deliver his speech, who congratulated the students for this happy occasion and he advised him some important advices for their future that would benefit them in their practical life, then asked them to stand up for the medical oath. After performing the medical oath, Dr. Al-Bashaireh handed the graduation certificates to this corps of new young doctors , starting with the first ranked for this batch, the student, Omar Al-Tahat.
The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy as well delivered a speech to the graduate pharmacy students, recited the pharmacist’s oath, and presented graduation certificates to the pharmacy graduates. After the ceremony, the families of the graduates continued their joys with songs and folk dances.
The Faculty of Medicine presents its congratulations to the graduates of a “Hope Batch 2016-2022” and to their families and loved ones, and wishes them continued success in the fields of work.
In the presence of Prof. Dr. Zain Al-Abidin Abdullah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Hassan Al-Balas, Head of the Clinical Medical Sciences (CMS) Department, a number of faculty members and a group of YU students, a lecture was held by Dr. Adam Al-Sqour, who is a full-time lecturer in the Department of Clinical Medical Sciences - Psychiatry and the supervisor of the (Yarmouk Spirit) Initiative, in which this lecture comes in context. The lecture took place on Tuesday 2-8-2022 in the Internal Medicine Hall on the campus of the Faculty of Medicine.
The spirit of Yarmouk... is an initiative launched by the Faculty of Medicine last March under the supervision of Dr. Adam Al-Sqour.. The initiative is concerned with the mental health of the university community.
Currently, the initiative's progress is based on periodic meetings in which ideas such as those found in the initiative's page are discussed, and as explained by Dr. Sqour ; there will be work of teams composed of university students to manage different activities in the various faculties of the university under the same goal which is to support students and workers in YU concerning their mental health.
The Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University, in cooperation with the International Federation of Medical Student Associations - Yarmouk University, organizes a lecture within an integrated project on life after graduation,
Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani one of our distinguished graduates will be the keynote speaker and the lecture titled:
‘Requirements for obtaining admission to the specialization program in America’
The lecturer will talk about exams and how to prepare for them, how to build a well structured CV, and the costs that qualify the doctor to specialize in the United States of America.
Dr. Al-Momani is a graduate of the first batch of the Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University, who has completed the requirements for the specialty in America and obtained a residency position in the specialty of Neurology; a competitive specialty in the US.
The lecture will be held tomorrow, Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 12:00 noon in the Blue Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine.
Note that a series of introductory lectures will be held for students about residency programs in a number of countries, including Britain, Qatar and Germany, Their schedule is to be determined later.
