Under the auspices of the President of Yarmouk University, a dialogue session was organized by the Faculty of Medicine on Thursday Nov. 24th, 2022 for faculty members from the various faculties of the university on multi-disciplinary research. The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Mowaffaq Al-Amoush attended on behalf of the President in the presence of the Vice President for Planning, Development, Scientific Research and Quality Affairs, Prof. Samer Samarah.
Prof. Al-Amoush gave a speech welcomed the audience and stressed on the chances and the mechanisms of performing multi-disciplinary research between the medical faculties and the other faculties in the university, for the sake of acheiving the vision of Yarmouk University and its mission. A creative scientific research that contributes to the community service and the universal benifit.
Prof. Samer Samarah then talked about the importance of publishing scientific research in high impact Scopus indexed journals and other significant journals , the output of which will put our university in better position in the recognized international scales of universities in the globe. Multidisciplinary research will strengthen the level of research as more ideas could be dealt with and better understanding of all aspects of the research is gained.
Prof, Manar Al-Lawama , the Dean of Faculty of Medicine welcomed the distinguished guests and participants , She added, that this discussion comes to build cooperation bridges among the different faculties ( medical and non medical like engineering, sciences, arts, humanetarian specialties and others) in the university especially the ones that deal with the healeh of the person and the society. The aim of this session is to discover the areas of research interest of the faculty members in Faculty of Medicine and other faculties and to map the intersected areas of interest among our academic fellows to start with in many research lines that will lead eventually to publishing a good number of multi-disciplinary researches that could be applied for the sake of the community benifit.
Then All the deans and faculty members that attended the session talked about their research interests and aspirations to involve some other specialties in the research lines that they look for in the future.
A database about the research interests of YU faculty members and their proposed projects will be available soon to acquaint the researchers of their fellows from other schools in the university will be available in the very near future to start to harvest the crop that this session planted.
