The Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University was honored to invite Dr. Ahmed Yassin and Dr. Ethar Hazaimeh from the Neurology Department / Jordan University of Science and Technology to give a workshop to 4th year medical students on how to do cognitive assessment for the elderly using MOCA test.
Dr. Ahmed Yassin is a neurologist and an epileptologist who did his residency and fellowship training in the US and is currently practicing at King Abdullah University Hospital.
Dr. Ethar Hazaimeh is an outstanding senior neurology resident and one of the founders of Neuropedia, a famous group for medical students interested in neurosciences. She is also doing multiple research projects on cognition and neurology in general.
The activity was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Ola Soudah and Dr. Reema Karasneh as a part of "the community medicine" course. The medical students were trained during this course on how to do a field data collection using survey and scales to evaluate the cognitive and physical function of the Jordanian elderly population.
