Under the patronage of the Dean of Faculty of Medicine/YU Prof. Khaldoun Bashaireh, the initiative named (Yarmouk Soul) was launched on Tuesday March 8th, 2022. This initiative is concerned about the psycological health of the YU society, this step comes in the context of strengthening the role of Faculty of Medicine/YU towards the local community and the community inside the university borders.
Prof. Bashaireh said in a speech in the launch ceremony that 'the objective of this initiative is to let the university be a safe place for psycological heath and the psycological well being for every member in this community ( students, academic staff members and administrative members). This is intended to get by planning projects for for awareness, prevention of psycological problems and tratment of any disorder measured or happened'.
Dr. Bashaireh followed: " because of the importance of the psychological well being, this initiative will be a continuous process that will include many programs that will cover any member under the university umbrella". He added: This initiative will take in consideration many pathological phenomena like stress . depression , phobias, anxity and drug abuse. And it will include many preventive and curative programs.
Dr. Adam Sqour , the staff member in Faculty of Medicine in Psychiatry and the supervisor of this initiative said: " The importance of psycological care and moving forward towards people is to prevent any psycological problem from getting worse, as preventing these problems from being diseases is essential before affected ones are pushed into the psychiatry clinics to get treatment"
Dr. Sqour stressed on the importance of cooperation between students in general and the members of the initiative to let this mission succeed. Students will form groups volunteering to get the benift and help others in achieving the psycological well being of the individuals and the university community.
The Launch of the initiative was attended by many of the faculty staff in Faculty of Medicine and students from the faculty and other faculties.



During the last few days A meeting between Yarmouk University represented by Prof. Islam Massad , the president of YU and Prof. Khaldoon Bashaireh , the Dean of Faculty of Medicine-YU and the Ministry of Health represented by His Excellency, Prof. Feras Al-Hawwari, the minister and Dr. Raed Al-Shboul, the Secretary General of M.O.H..
This meeting was for the purpose of preparing for the agreement between the two bodies to provide places for medical training and Faculty of Medicine staff practice in the health institutions of M.O.H..

Dr. Asma'a Al-Mnayyis the radiologist and the consultant in musculoskeletal radiology was promoted to the academic rank of Associate Professor after approval of the Deans' Council in Yarmouk University.
Dr. Al-Mnayyis is the Dean Assistant for academic development and clinical training issues in Faculty of Medicine. The family of the Faculty of Medicine/ YU congratulates Dr. Asma'a for this promotion and hopes the best for her career.

A scientific research was recently published by Prof. Khaldoon Bashaireh, the Dean, in collaboration with Karloniska Institute. I is the second research done together. This institute in Sweden is a reputable center who got five Nobel prize in medicine. I is the third ranked in Europe and the sixth internaionally ranked regarding Scopus.
The journal in which this research was published is ' World Journal of Emergency Surgery' which is a Q1 Scopus Journal , IF 4.58 . It is the first ranked in emergencu medicine and the tenth out if 422 in emergency surgeries field.
The first collaborative work was publised in Lancet Global Health Journal, IF 26.78

On Thursday Dec. 16th, 2021, Prof. Islam Massad, the president of Yarmouk University met the teaching staff of Clinical Medical Sciences-CMS department in the presence of Prof. Khaldoon Bashireh, the Dean, Prof. Zain Al-Abideen Abdulla, the vice dean and Dr. Hasan Albalas , the head of CMS department.
First, the president talked to the teaching staff about the development of the curriculum and the alterations needed to cope with the modern medical education especially with the increasing numbers of medical students enrolling the faculties of medicine in Jordan. and he stressed on the importance of excellence in this issue in our school of medicine. Then Prof. Massad touched on the topic of clinical education and training and the clinical practice of the clinical teaching staff in the teaching hospitals and training centers.
Prof. Bashaireh the dean then lighted some points concering the future of clinical training in the faculty of medicine. An open and frank discussion took place between the teaching staff and the administration where questions and inquiries were answered by the YU President.

Faculty of Medicine-YU and Yarmouk University held a workshop on Thursday Feb. 24th, 2022 under the patronage of his Excellency the minister of High Education and Scientific Research "Prof. Wajeeh Owais" about " the future of medical education in Jordan ".
A number of high figures in medical education and health development in Jordan participated actively in this workshop including many former ministers of high education and scientific research and ministers of health, members in High Education Council and Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education Institutions (AQACHEI), Jordan Medical Council (JMC), the heads of the committees of health and environment in the two chambers of the parliament, Royal Medical Services (RMS) and the presidents of the official universities and the deans of faculties of medicine in these universities.
The workshop included several sessions presented by officials and experts in medical education in Jordan.

Prof. Khaldoon Bashaireh, the Dean of Faculty of Medicine/YU participated in the Arab board exam of orthopedic surgery affiliated with the Arab council of health specialties. The December 2021 exam session was held in the campus of the educational center of Ain Shams University . Cairo-Egypt.
