An awareness day entitled (Info day- iBMS) at the Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University
The Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University held an awareness day for the Integrated Basic Medical Sciences (iBMS) program.
The day was held on Thursday, 11/8/2022 in the auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine. Our medical school participates in this program which is supported by the European Union within the ERASMUS PLUS projects, which includes six partners from faculties of medicine in six Jordanian universities, as the university seeks to integrate it into the faculty, as one of the programs offered to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Medicine.
This day comes to introduce students to the iBMS intertwined Basic Medical Sciences Program, as a national program targeting undergraduate students in the Faculty of Medicine, who have completed the basic stage of the first three years, who are eligible to apply for this program, the program grants students a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary basic medical sciences , a certificate issued by the Jordan University of Science and Technology, being the incubator for this program in its national capacity.In which the project manager, Professor Dr. Fahmy Abu Al-Rub from the Jordan University of Science and Technology, spoke about it in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Khaldoon Bashaireh and the Dean Assistant of International and alumni affairs; Dr. Mazhar Al-Zoubi, a number of faculty members at the Faculty, and a group of our students interested in this program, especially third year medical students. Prof. Dr. Abu Al-Rub gave a detailed explanation of the program, and answered inquiries and questions of the students regarding admission mechanisms, and sub-specialties within this program
and the number of years and the criteria adopted by the program to accept students, and the desired benefit from it. Participants discussed strengths and weaknesses of the future of graduates of the program from the point of view of students, faculty and attendees.
The meeting ended with a heartfelt thanks to the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University for organizing this activity, and to Prof. Dr. Abu Al-Rub for participation, and for the attendance of academic staff, students and guests.
