The Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University has received a research fund from the Scientific Research and Innovation Support Fund as part of the 2024 Special Session on “Combating Drugs and Their Effects on Society”.
Dr. Ayman Al-Zoubi and Dr. Ejlal Abu Al-Rub, from the Department of Basic Medical Sciences, won a grant worth 23,000 JDs to support a research project titled "Synthetic Cannabinoids and the Heart Health: An Epidemiological and Mechanistic Insights into Synthetic Cannabinoids-Related Heart Toxicity”. This research aims to clarify the molecular mechanisms that lead to synthetic cannabinoid toxicity on myocardium, which will contribute to treating the adverse effects of drug abuse and combating the impact of this phenomenon on the mental and physical health of individuals.
