The Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University organized a special awareness day for the students of the UNRWA Boys’ Preparatory School, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Moqabla, Dr. Rashed Shtanawi, Dr. Rami Al-Omari, Dr. Ayman Al-Zoubi, Dr. Ramada Khassawneh, Dr. Fatima Mahasneh, and Dr. Ola Soudah.
The event included health guidelines on preventing hypertension and diabetes, emphasizing the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle with balanced nutrition and regular physical activity. The program also highlighted the need to avoid harmful health habits such as smoking and addiction in all its forms.
Additionally, the event focused on raising awareness about the health risks of electronic addiction, explaining its negative effects on health, including digital eye strain syndrome and what is referred to as brain atrophy due to excessive use of electronic devices.
As part of the event, Yarmouk University medical students conducted a scientific workshop for the Health and Human Rights Committee students at the school, which included practical training on first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), enhancing students’ knowledge of how to act in emergency situations.
