Dr. Loay Al-Husinat, a faculty member at the Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University, received the Best Research Abstract Award for 2025 during his participation in the international medical conference "Roma Pain Days 2025", held in the Italian capital, Rome.
During the conference, Dr. Al-Husinat presented a research paper titled: "The Therapeutic Potential and Challenges of Using Cannabis in the Management of Non-Cancer Chronic Pain: A Comprehensive Review", in which he provided an in-depth review of the available scientific evidence on the efficacy of cannabis in treating non-cancer chronic pain. The paper addressed potential benefits, biological mechanisms, side effects, and both regulatory and medical challenges.
Dr. Al-Husinat also chaired a scientific session during the conference on the management of pain syndromes. The participants discussed the latest treatment approaches, shared their clinical experiences, and explored new insights into the future of pain management.
