A scientific seminar dealing with medical ethics in health issues with legal and religious impacts was held today morning (Wednesday Aug. 23rd, 2023). This seminar was under patronage of the Dean of Faculty of Medicine/YU Prof. Manar Al-Lawama. The title of the seminar was: 'The medical ethics of abortion and methods of assisted pregnancy/ The opinions of religion and law'
The speakers who gave the the opinions of Christianity and Islam religions, Medicine and Law were Father Dr. Refaat Badr (Director of the Catholic Center for Studies and Information in Jordan), Prof. Adam Noah Al-Qudah (Professor of Islamic jurisprudence and member of the Jordanian Iftaa Council), Prof. Laith Nasraween (Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Jordan) and Dr. Soha Al-Beitawy (Consultant gynecologist (Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility), the assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine - Yarmouk University).
The session moderators were Prof. Youssef Obeidat (Dean of the Faculty of Law) and Prof. Manar Al-Lawama (Dean of the Faculty of Medicine).
This activity was attended by a large group of teaching and administrative staff, university students from different specialties and visitors from local community who were interested in the subject
