Jordanian TV Interview with the Dean about some common medical issues regarding children

 

The Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Manar Al-Lawama, the pediatrics and neonatology consultant appeared in the medical talk show (Hello Doctor) which is broadcasted in JTV, the official TV in Jordan.

The show started by a question from the show host Dr. Mohammad Rasheed about Dehydration in children; its symptoms, importance and treatment. then she started to receive questions through phone calls by the audience from Jordan and outside. She answered questions about constipation in children, the correct time of weaning from breast feeding. Is the scanty hair in babies always indicate a medical problem? 

Other questions about different issues were answered by Dr. Al-Lawama regarding nutrition customs in children, effect of caffeine-containing drinks on children like tea, additives on milk presented to babies like sugar. She went through subjects like overweight and obesity in children and their causes, vitamin D and iron defiencies in pediatric age group. and some old traditions dealing with babies in Jordan like swaddling.

Finally, Dr. Rasheed asked Dr. Manar about DDH and Cerebral palsy.
