The Medical Club - MC

The Medical Club is an organised non-profit gathering inside Yarmouk University campus. It consists of students from faculties of medicine and pharmacy. The Medical Club was established by a presedential decision in the university. The administrative board is elected by the students from both faculties who are affiliated with the club (the general body of the club) . these elections are held annually once the quorum of the affiliated students is reached. 
 

Aims of the Medical Club:

 - Serve both the university community in campus and the Jordanian community outside the campus.

- Help the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Pharmacy to translate their orientation in the extracorricular mission towards community into a real action in the field.

Missions of the Medical Club:

1- Providing comprehensive and free revisions of the study materails to the students who need them in both faculties.

2- Preparing and implementing extracurricular, recreational and medical activities inside and outside the university campus.

3- Organizing conferences and celebrations inside and outside the university campus.

4- Encoraging volunteer work, public service and team-work among the students from both faculties.

5- Providing te students from faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy to participate in activities that suit their interests and abilities.

6- The administrative board and the general body of the club are honored to provide advice and guidance to all new students at Yarmouk University.

The activities of the first and second sessions: The academic years (2015-2016) and (2016-2017)

Medical campaign titled (How is it going?)  In this campaign more than 1000 visitors over two days benifited- from medical instructions, Blood pressure and blood sugar check, height and weight measurements and information about common medical problems. This campaign was followed by three more similar campaigns in different locations inside Irbid-Jordan with the names ( How 's it going? 2 , 3 and 4 )  

 
 Lecture given by the scholar and the thinker Dr. Zaghloul Al-Najjar titled ( Medical miracles in the Holy Quran)
 
Under the patronage of Prof. Mashhour AlRefaei, the President of Princess Sumayya University for IT , the Medical Club (MC) performed the medical campaign ( How 's it going 2 ), in collaboration with Dawakom Pharmacies group  and ( Tabeebak- Your doctor- team). This campaign was on Tuesday May 12th, 2015. The program included ( introducing the faculties of Medicine and Parmacy @ YU to the public, routine check for blood sugar and blood pressure, Height and weight measurements the awareness of common medical problems like myocardial infarction.
 
 Ramadan breakfast meal for the students of Pharmacy and Medicine @ YU attended by the dean of the faculty of medicine then Dr. Zial Al- Nasser , the special guest was Dr. Hatem Rawashdeh one of the figure doctors in his field
 
 The Campaign ( How 's it going 4 )  was held under the patronage of Prof. Mashhour AlRefaei, the President of Princess Sumayya University for IT , the Medical Club (MC)  in collaboration with Dawakom Pharmacies group  and Cipamed company. This campaign was done on Thursday April 14th, 2016. The program included ( introducing the faculties of Medicine and Parmacy @ YU to the public, routine check for blood sugar and blood pressure, Height and weight measurements the awareness of risks of smoking and how to help smokers quit smoking and the antibiotics abuse and how to control the use of these medications.
 
 

The actvities of the third session 2018-2019:

 1- The awareness day in Model School of Yarmouk University. The day included an awareness campaign about bad effects of smoking, the healthy nutrition and the optimal way of washing hands.
 
2- Awareness lectures in Al-Husn mixed elementary school about the healthy nutrition, washing hands, ways of transmission of infections and Smallpox.
 
3- Organizing a free medical day for screening vital signs, height and weight measurements and testing blood sugar inside the university cmpus. Two free clinics were opened for the people in the specialties of nutrition and dermatology.
There were booths for many health issues like Quit smoking, washing hands, ways of transmission of infections and healthy balanced diet.
In that day a campaign for blood donation was done. Sixty units of blood were collected for the blood bank in Irbid. Thanks to the awareness of our university students and to the great collaboration of the blood bank of the northern jordan (Irbid).
The day was under the honorary patronage of the deans of faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy, and the Dean of the Deanship of Student Affairs. It was attended by faculty staff from both faculties and a crowd of university students.
 
4- Set up of a football league for teams from faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy inside the campus, attended by the administrative board of the medical club and faculty academic and administrative staff from both faculties.
