طب اليرموك تنظم فعالية توعوية بمناسبة الشهر العالمي للتوعية بسرطان عنق الرحم
Yarmouk Faculty of Medicine Organizes an Awareness Event on the Occasion of World Cervical Cancer Awareness Month
عقدت كلية الطب في جامعة اليرموك وبالشراكة مع مركز الأميرة بسمة لدراسات المرأة الأردنية فعالية توعوية بمناسبة الشهر العالمي للتوعية بسرطان عنق الرحم، وذلك يوم الأحد الموافق 25-1-2026، بهدف رفع مستوى الوعي الصحي لدى المجتمع الجامعي بأهمية الوقاية والكشف المبكر.
ويُعد هذا النشاط باكورة أنشطة مجموعة الطلبة المهتمين بتخصص النسائية والتوليد في كلية الطب، في إطار دعم الجامعة للمبادرات الطلابية الهادفة وتعزيز الاهتمام بالتخصصات الطبية.
وجرت الفعالية بحضور عميدة كلية الطب الدكتورة جمانة السليمان، ومديرة مركز الأميرة بسمة لدراسات المرأة الأردنية الدكتورة بتول المحيسن، ونُظمت الفعالية بإشراف الدكتورة إيمان الشديفات، مشرفة مجموعة الطلبة المهتمين بتخصص النسائية والتوليد في كلية الطب.
وتم خلال الفعالية استضافة كلٍّ من:
• الأستاذ الدكتور عامر سندياني، استشاري أورام النساء من كلية الطب – جامعة العلوم والتكنولوجيا الأردنية / مستشفى الملك المؤسس عبد الله الجامعي.
• الدكتور خالد سوالمة، استشاري علم الأمراض من كلية الطب – جامعة اليرموك.
وقد قدّم المحاضران محاضرات علمية متخصصة تناولت أحدث المستجدات المتعلقة بسرطان عنق الرحم، وسبل الوقاية منه، وأهمية الفحوصات الدورية والتشخيص المبكر في تقليل معدلات الإصابة والوفيات.
وشهدت الفعالية حضورًا لافتًا من أعضاء الهيئتين التدريسية والإدارية، والطالبات، حيث تخللها نقاش علمي وتفاعل إيجابي، عكس اهتمام الجامعة بدورها التوعوي والمجتمعي في تعزيز صحة المرأة.
وتأتي هذه الفعالية ضمن جهود كلية الطب في جامعة اليرموك المستمرة في دعم المبادرات الصحية والتوعوية والأنشطة الطلابية، وتعزيز ثقافة الوقاية والكشف المبكر، انسجامًا مع رسالتها في خدمة المجتمع.

The Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University, in partnership with the Princess Basma Center for Jordanian Women's Studies, held an awareness event on the occasion of World Cervical Cancer Awareness Month on Sunday, January 25, 2026, with the aim of raising health awareness within the university community about the importance of prevention and early detection.
This activity is the first of its kind organized by the student group interested in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine, reflecting the University’s support for meaningful student initiatives and its commitment to promoting interest in medical specialties.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Jumana Al-Sulaiman, and the Director of the Princess Basma Center for Jordanian Women's Studies, Dr. Batool Al-Muhaisen. It was organized under the supervision of Dr. Eman Al-Shdaifat, supervisor of the student group interested in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine.
The event featured presentations by:
• Professor Dr. Amer Sindiani, Consultant Gynecologic Oncologist from the Faculty of Medicine, Jordan University of Science and Technology / King Abdullah University Hospital.
• Dr. Khaled Sawalmeh, Consultant Pathologist from the Faculty of Medicine, Yarmouk University.
Both speakers delivered specialized scientific lectures covering the latest developments related to cervical cancer, methods of prevention, and the importance of regular screenings and early diagnosis in reducing incidence and mortality rates.
The event drew a notable turnout from faculty, staff, and students, and featured a scientific discussion and positive interaction that reflected the University’s commitment to its educational and community role in promoting women’s health.
This event is part of the ongoing efforts of the Yarmouk University Faculty of Medicine to support health and awareness initiatives and student activities, while promoting a culture of prevention and early detection, in line with its mission of serving the community.
